The FOUR of US
SHE's here~!  I cannot believe it - another beautiful baby GIRL.  I was so surprised I started laughing in the OR and then preceeded to cry afterwards!  (Im not a crier, I did not cry at my wedding and I did not cry when Aly was born)

We got to the hospital at 5am.  I did not sleep at all the night before.  I woke up at 1.....2......3.......4........and got up at 4:15.  Everything went so smooth and Miss Holly was born at 8:02am.  The C-Section was "easy"  the IV they put in my hurt worse than the spinal they gave me......I was prepared for alot worse and was pleasantly surprised.  It was like a big party in the OR, 2 docs, 2 nurses, anastesiolgist, his nurse.....and they were all cutting up and jokin around.  It definatley made me feel more at ease.

My doc was so excited to deliver this baby, that when it was time to "Call it", she beat Daniel to the punch and said....."it's a GIRL~!!!!!"  Thats when I started to laugh.  2 girls, such a blessing and she is just as beautiful as her older sister.  Oh No Daniel - get your gunS loaded.

We are on our third day at the hospital and ready to get out of here.  It starts to get depressing after awhile.  Food sux, lighting sux......you get woken up every 2 hours and it's not b/c of Holly.  We go home tomorrow and we are more than ready.  Aly came by yesterday and she did great, she was all hugs for mommy and daddy and very curious about the "new addition".......it will be interesting to see how she does these next couple of months.  My ultimate goal is for Alyson and Holly to be the best of friends - I know they will have their moments - but the blessing of sisters is something to cherish :)

Let's Rodeo San Antonio~!

Well guess what -!  We ended up going to the rodeo after all.  I went in for my doc appt. 2 weeks ago and had a good check up which my doc then alleviated my bed rest and I was able to return back to work and finish out my last 2 wks, which I was very happy about - it definatley made the weeks go by and we got to take Aly to the Rodeo.  It was great, my parents joined us and we had a great time - Aly loved it.

So its Saturday evening and come Monday morning 730am we will have Baby Burkholder No.2  -- I am just so so ready, ready to meet this little one and ready to enjoy our family.  We are so blessed with such wonderful friends and family always checking in with us.  My mom will come and stay with us to help out with our new addition, Daniel's mom is coming in town tomorrow and plans to cook up a storm so we will have plenty of meals to choose from, my dad is coming in town tomorrow as well - it is so nice to be surrounded by such great and supportive friends and family.

Enjoy our pics from the rodeo and we will keep you all posted with our exciting NEWS!

3 more weeks and COUNTING

Well, we are down to the wire with baby No. 2.  Woke up on Tues with contractions and thought we might have a baby by the end of the day or following morning.  Contractions seemed to lessen when Doc put me on bedrest - so as of now we are still pregnant.  I go again this coming Tues to see my progression and if Feb. 21 will be the big day.
I am definatley "ready" for this baby.  Mentally I have been ready for this baby since Christmas~!!!  It has been a rough ride, so to have my "body back" and begin to live normaly will be an absolute blessing.  I do know though, that doc know best and when she told me Tues. night that she wanted to wait it out a little longer, I understood her reservations and agreed to do what was best for baby.  Doc and Daniel thinks its a girl, I still think we have a stinky boy.  Either way - healthy baby is what we pray for.

So.......I am at home - bedridden until next Tues.  Today was my first day and I started to go stir-crazy around 2pm.  I have a very good friend that is bed-ridden in the hospital and has been and will be for about 10 wks - I am in complete awe of her.  Staying off your feet is not the easiest thing to do and I am a stubborn one!!! (ha).  Tomorrow will be a little better, my mom is coming to keep me company in the afternoon and Daniel and I are having Date Night "In" tomorrow evening.

Alyson is wonderful - she is my absolute joy and no matter how bad of mood I am in about being on bedrest - she lights my world the min. Daniel and her walk in the door from the day.  She is doing well adjusting to her "big girl bed"  some night we succomb to the crib - but as of this wknd, we will not have that option.  I was really looking foward to taking her to the rodeo this wknd, but since mommy is on bed rest I guess we will have to wait for next years and take both of the kiddos!!

Wish me luck  --  I will be eating lots of pineapple and praying that this baby comes sooner than later.

Terrible 2's.......or 20 months (but who's counting)

So I remember my mom telling me......"I loved every age of you" and tonight, as Daniel is carrying Aly upstairs to be put into TIME-OUT.....I am thinking, "really.....really????......every age........even the 2's and 3's......."
Ha - it's not as bad as I am making it sound, but I have to admit that this age is tough.  I wish that she would not act out so that she didn't have to go into time-out, but I know that we cannot accept some of the behaviour that she displays so it is the best thing for her in the long run.  I had a long day at work and Daniel usually always does, so we decided to meet up for dinner to make it a little easier on ourselves.  Needless to say, Alyson was not having it.  So we got our dinner to go and headed home.  That is one thing that I have learned as a mom.......nothing is predictable and you have to be "ok" with your plans changing in an instant.  Daniel and I are for the most part pretty laid back people, so it has not been too tough to accept, but we also make a great team - which is a definate must in parenting :)

Alyson is a very beautiful, smart and funny 20 month old.  She is very independent and strong-willed.  She has learned how to say no, she get's embarrassed and upset about things, it takes her about 20 minutes to warm up to strangers and new surroundings, she loves looking at puppies - but needs them to keep their distance and she has the sweetest most affectionate heart.  Getting ready for baby number 2, we have moved her upstairs into her "big girl room" or "Aly's Penthouse"  we have child-proofed almost everything and have her hooked up to a video moniter to watch her every move......(ha)  We did move her crib upstairs with her, of course this will eventually have to come back down to the nursery and I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous.  In FACT I am very nervous about it.  My mom says, I never crawled out of my big girl bed......well I will put money on the fact the Alyson will be out of her bed before I can shut the door to say good night.  She probably has a lot of my similiarities, but she is a VERY strong-willed child, maybe even more than her mommy ;)  Wish us Luck~!!!

So onto the Second Child - I am officially 33 weeks pregnant and soooooooooooo ready to have this baby.  March 5th could not come any faster and I am looking forward to having a break from work and enjoying this baby.  This pregnancy has been totally different from Alyson.  I have been very nauseous, lots of head-aches and extremley tired (this might have to do with the 20mo. old I am trying to keep up with).  We have not found out the sex and will wait until it's debut - I am looking forward to seeing if we have a stinky boy or another sweet (stinky) girl.  Either way, a blessing from GOD that we are eternally grateful for.  On a side note - Daniel and I have decided that our family of 4 (with a dog eventually) is what we are going to go with.  We are so blessed with Alyson and cannot wait for the arrival of number 2, but we are going to call it a day - thank GOD for our children and begin to enjoy our life as a family.  We are very serious about providing our children with private school educations, we would like to get into a bigger home with some land, we would like to get back to traveling with the kiddos and without and in order to do ALL of those things - the balance of 4 seems enough for us to handle :)  So no "20 kids and counting for me" Mrs. Duggar.....sheesh.
Crazy Uncle Josh
I am going to close and post some pictures of New Years - sorry they so are late.....  I also apologize if my writing is bad.  Daniel has "Ax Men"on (a reality t.v. show about loggers) in the background and I swear I can hear the soundtrack to Deliverance and my IQ dropping at a rapid speed :)
Happy 2012~!

Happy 2012~!

Ok so as I promised, pics of New Years and Xmas.....We had a very nice and busy Christmas.  It all began on the 23rd with the annual Burkholder Xmas Bash at Grandma and Grandpa Burkholders with a special visit from Santa.  Majority of everyone was there.....which when you add 10 siblings, their children and then their families - it was nothing short of chaos~!  But alot of fun and I was glad Aly was able to participate :)  She did great with all of her many cousins.  Christmas Eve was a nice quiet day, with a little bit of a hiccup for mass - so I grabbed communion and met Daniel and Aly in the car.....(I think we were snake-bit when we woke her up early from her nap) plus, I have never seen so many people packed in the church & hall like sardines!!!  Crazy CHREASTERS~!!!  We then went over to mom and dad's and had a lovely dinner, Daniel' sister, Grace and her husband joined us and we had a great time - Aly got to open up all of her presents from Babi and Dido.  Christmas Day we woke up early to see what Santa had brought, Aly was actually interested in playing with her existing toys rather than the new ones (favorite toy still - Pink Princess Car from the Brooks - she loves that thing~!!! - Thanks Dustin!!)  Then we packed up and headed over to my Grandma's to open presents, see our cousins and eat some delicious cookies.  We came home, grabbed a nap and then trecked out to Fair Oaks Ranch to spend the evening with Daniel's Dad, Kathy and the kiddos.  Aly had a great time, she loves her Aunt's and Uncle (we'll explain that to her later ~!)  Whew - I'm exhausted, how about you.....I think that wraps up the festivities of xmas.  I will post pics and then on to New Years. (It was just as busy.....get ready!)

Drive-by Bloggin

So, I am statrting to become one of those bloggers that only blog on holidays.....kind of like those church goers that only go on Christmas and Easter.....what are they called - "Chreasters"  Honestly, I have not blogged b/c my new employer blocks "social sites" even during lunch hours - it's not really a bad thing, but it is the reason for the lack of blogs.  Ok so anyway.  We had a wonderful T-Giving.  Spent the day at my mom's and it was just the 5 of us.  It was very nice b/c it gave me a chance to rest (2 naps~!!) and enjoy the day.  I have been feeling "ok"I have had waves of nausea, last week was pretty bad - doc had to perscribe me phenagren and have had some pretty massive migranes....but thankfully the "nausea cloud" lifted on TGiving day and I was able to wear my stretchy pants and scarf down a bunch of good food.  Here are some pics of our weekend - hope all of yours were as blessed as ours :)  Next - CHRISTMAS!!!
