All is well, a few hiccups.......Alyson has a respitory infection - so we are trying to juggle everything, but so far seem to be handling it in stride.

Holly went for a follow up appt. today with our pedi - she has gained almost 1 lb in 1 week - amazing.  She is a healthy girl with a healthy appetite :)

Ok - so don't get too spoiled during this time that I am on maternity leave.  I have a feeling that there will be a little more posting going on since I have 8 wks to "kill".  Ha - not really, I will be fairly busy with 2 girls on my hands, I can already tell that it is going to be a challenge.

Here are some recent pics of the girls.  We have been enjoying both trememdously.  We plan to take Aly to the park today to give her some one on one "mommy and daddy" time.

Well we are home and getting settled.

Holly is doing wonderful, just as her sister Aly did.  She is a great baby, sleeps well, eats well, seems to be content when awake.  She is beautiful, I cannot decide if she looks like Aly or not, but both were/are beautiful babies.  My mom has come to stay with us for 2 weeks, she did the same for Aly and we are all getting used to taking care of a newborn again, it is amazing what you forget so quickly.  Daniel and I are getting used to sleepless night, but know that it will not liast for long and also, you tend to get used to it after ahwile.  And like I said, Holly is really doing wonderfully.

Aly is doing wonderful, she is saying sister and baby very well and likes to touch Holly at the end of the bassinet and likes to bring the Holly pj's, blankets and whatever she can find in Holly's nursery.  She has turned into a little girl overnight - Daniel and I cannot get over how grown up she seems.  She has spent the past two days with Pa Paw and Kathy out in "the country"  (Fair Oaks), but I think it has been great for her b/c of the different atmosphere she is exposed too.

The FOUR of US

SHE's here~!  I cannot believe it - another beautiful baby GIRL.  I was so surprised I started laughing in the OR and then preceeded to cry afterwards!  (Im not a crier, I did not cry at my wedding and I did not cry when Aly was born)

We got to the hospital at 5am.  I did not sleep at all the night before.  I woke up at 1.....2......3.......4........and got up at 4:15.  Everything went so smooth and Miss Holly was born at 8:02am.  The C-Section was "easy"  the IV they put in my hurt worse than the spinal they gave me......I was prepared for alot worse and was pleasantly surprised.  It was like a big party in the OR, 2 docs, 2 nurses, anastesiolgist, his nurse.....and they were all cutting up and jokin around.  It definatley made me feel more at ease.

My doc was so excited to deliver this baby, that when it was time to "Call it", she beat Daniel to the punch and said....."it's a GIRL~!!!!!"  Thats when I started to laugh.  2 girls, such a blessing and she is just as beautiful as her older sister.  Oh No Daniel - get your gunS loaded.

We are on our third day at the hospital and ready to get out of here.  It starts to get depressing after awhile.  Food sux, lighting sux......you get woken up every 2 hours and it's not b/c of Holly.  We go home tomorrow and we are more than ready.  Aly came by yesterday and she did great, she was all hugs for mommy and daddy and very curious about the "new addition".......it will be interesting to see how she does these next couple of months.  My ultimate goal is for Alyson and Holly to be the best of friends - I know they will have their moments - but the blessing of sisters is something to cherish :)

Let's Rodeo San Antonio~!

Well guess what -!  We ended up going to the rodeo after all.  I went in for my doc appt. 2 weeks ago and had a good check up which my doc then alleviated my bed rest and I was able to return back to work and finish out my last 2 wks, which I was very happy about - it definatley made the weeks go by and we got to take Aly to the Rodeo.  It was great, my parents joined us and we had a great time - Aly loved it.

So its Saturday evening and come Monday morning 730am we will have Baby Burkholder No.2  -- I am just so so ready, ready to meet this little one and ready to enjoy our family.  We are so blessed with such wonderful friends and family always checking in with us.  My mom will come and stay with us to help out with our new addition, Daniel's mom is coming in town tomorrow and plans to cook up a storm so we will have plenty of meals to choose from, my dad is coming in town tomorrow as well - it is so nice to be surrounded by such great and supportive friends and family.
