It aint easy

Alyson

Our Family
So we are hanging in there.  Having 2 has been a definate adjustment and it has been a little rocky with Holly.  We found out last Thursday that she has a dairy allergy, this basically means that b/c I am nursing her I have to cut out all dairy from my diet.  Doesn't sound too hard - right......(?)  Milk, Cheese, Yogurt, Ice Cream, Sour Cream, Cream Cheese........but actually if you start reading the labels of the ingrediants in whats in your pantry you will be very suprised with ALL the items that include dairy.  I went to the store yesterday and spent an hour and a half reading ALL the labels - it was exhausting, Oh and I had my 2 yr old with me that towards the end of our trip she started to throw/chunk the items out of the shopping cart.  :D  I have come to the conclusion that basically what I will have to eat are fruits, vegetables, chicken, fish..... (cannot have beef b/c it is from a cow and the meat can contain dairy traces from the cow)  YEP

Im sorry if it sounds like I am complaining - I guess at this point I just feel "beat down".  I want my baby girl to be comforatable and not in pain and it is so hard to watch her turn beat red and scream while she is trying to pass gas or have a BM.  Our pediatrician says it should get better in the next couple of weeks, and hopefully she will out grow the allergy anywhere from 6mo-1yr.  I just hope she out grows it in time to consume the 7, 2.5 gallon bags of breastmilk that I have already pumped in the last month from the freezer :D

Holly on Easter
So onto Easter(s).  We had a lovely Easter Saturday in the country.  Alyson loved running around the pasture looking at the cows, llamas (yes-llamas) opening, closing the gate to the tank, hunting eggs and hagining out with her cousins.  There is a whole new "bread" of cousins and it is going to be so much fun to watch them grow and become great friends like the generations before them.  Easter Sunday, we did not make it too church (rough night with Holly), but we went to lunch with Daniel's family.  The girls got to wear their matching Easter dresses and they looked so precious.  We went back to Aunt Grace's for pie (that I couldn't eat :D), but enjoyed the beautiful weather on their back porch.  By the end of the day, Daniel and I were exhausted.  We love our family and our little girls and feel so blessed with such an amazing family, but when you ask what it's like to the parents of two that have "gone before you" and they tell you that "in the beginning it's rough" they are not lying, they are telling you that absolute truth - it is rough.

Here are some pics of the past weeks and Easter.  Enjoy~!!
